ID PHOTOS
2017 - today
Photographic series at the photo booth®
magnetic acrylic frame
20x3x15 cm
In this series, I chose the photo booth© as the protocol for my installation. As a Franco-Japanese woman, the question of identity is particularly relevant to me. Despite the arrival of digital technology in our lives, photo booths© remain an everyday object used to capture one's identity.
Here, it shifts from an administrative to an artistic form. For example, I present my printed ID photo to the machine, with my hand through it. Or, my eyes printed on a tracing paper reveal my closed eyes in transparency.
Identity is presented from a new, "non-conforming" perspective, sometimes even becoming "conforming"...
